Grass-on-line was formed as an associate for TOPCROP Nursery, for augmenting sales. They are situated at Cramond in KwaZulu-Natal. We presently supply many nurseries in Natal with both grass and ornamental plugs. Going online is a new development to supply directly to the landscapers and householders throughout South Africa.
Grass varieties are planted in polystyrene trays measuring 68 cm x 34 cm x 5 cm and weighing 2.5 kg. When ready, these trays contain 200 plugs of grass each. When mature, they can easily be removed. When planted at our recommended spacing interval of 20 cm, a tray will cover an area of eight square metres.

The most economical size for transportation is bundles of five trays. Sales therefore are in multiples of five trays, with five trays being the minimum order. Note: it is also possible to mix a bundle with different species if required i.e. three of one species and two of another, etc.

We offer this online service because we have found that plug planting is the most economical way to grow a pure lawn species in the fastest possible time. Plugs can cover an area in six weeks if properly maintained. All you have to do is to measure the area you require to plant and divide this by eight to see how many trays are required. Then round this figure up to the nearest five for the number of bundles required. You will be pleasantly surprised by the delivered cost which can be as little as R 6-00 per square metre
